"Great teaching is always a form of love."
Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is based upon creating an environment that welcomes all students, promotes respect for all persons, treats all persons like the unique individuals that they are, and encourages the use of empathy. I believe that without these things, true learning cannot take place. I also believe that students need to be immersed in hands-on, authentic learning. My full teaching philosophy can be found below.
Classroom Management Philosophy
As my classroom management philosophy shares the same principles as my teaching philosophy, I believe that the way a person teaches should provide the foundation off of which to manage the classroom effectively. This provides consistency, which is essential for students of all ages. To further build consistency, I will establish classroom procedures within the first days of school. My classroom environment will be another tool for management, as I plan for it to feel like home. When students are comfortable, they are fully available for learning.
